Did you attend the 1957 World Scout Jamboree at Sutton Park? 50 years on, The Scout Association is inviting all participants - Scouts, their Leaders and day visitors - the chance to reunite during our Centenary year. The Reunion '57 tour will take place at the end of July 2007 for 3 days (2 nights) and will include visits to Gilwell Park, the 21st World Scout Jamboree site at Hylands Park, Essex, as well as Sutton Park. One of the organisers, Dave Andrews (himself a veteran of the 1957 event) said: "It will be an emotional time for all those who were lucky enough to attend. To meet with friends you haven't seen for half a century is extraordinary enough. To say that you were there when they celebrated both 50 and 100 years of Scouting is something really special." What do we do? Lots of fun and more besides: archery, sailing, camping, rafting, swimming, skiing, mountain biking .....

Where? Locally, The Lake District, Wales, Scotland, Jersey, Ireland.... who knows where.

Who with? Your friends..... and no homework.

Then why not join First Shirley Scouts ?

Beavers (age 6 - 8)
Cubs (age 8 – 10½ )
Scouts (age 10½ - 14)
Explorers (14 - 18)
Scout Network (18 – 25)

We have our own dedicated building next to Shirley Park (behind the Bank of Ireland, next to the British Legion), over 150 members, our own minibus, canoes, camping equipment, marquees and candy-floss machine and much more.

What does it cost? It depends on the age, but its cheaper than most activities or sports you can think of because all leaders are volunteers and give their time for nothing.
